The School Day

The school day begins at 8.45am and finishes at 3.15pm.

This meets the government's expectations that all state-funded mainstream schools deliver a school week of at least 32.5 hours by September 2024.

We have a ‘soft-start’ to the school day, so the children can go straight into their classes from 8.30am when the gates open.

Break Time

From Year 2 onwards, children have a 15 minute break in the morning. We encourage healthy eating within the school, so your child may bring fresh fruit or vegetables to eat at break time. Crisps, chocolate and sweets are not allowed.

Children in Year Reception and Year 1 are engaged in small group work and independent learning, inside and outside, across the whole morning. They are able to take a break as needed and are encouraged to help themselves to milk, water and fruit which are provided for them.

Please note that we aim to be a nut-free school. We ask parents/carers not to send nuts or nut products into school. This includes tree nuts such as walnut, almond, hazelnut, cashew, pistachio and Brazil nuts, as well as peanuts.

We also recommend that your child brings a named sports bottle of water with them every day.

Nursery have lunch between 11.30am -12.30pm

Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 have lunch between 11.45am - 12.45pm

The school day ends at 15:15

EYFS & KS1 (Nursery, Year R-2) classes are dismissed from their classroom door.

Years 3, 4, 5 & 6 will make their way out of the KS2 building onto the playground where they will be dismissed by a member of staff.
