Learning Environment

Our indoor and outside classrooms offer a wide range of exciting learning areas including a dedicated story and role- play corner, literacy and numeracy zones, creative zones and lots of areas for investigation and imaginative challenges.

Learning Framework

Within our early years we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This framework provides a structure for the provision of the highest standards of early education and care. We also operate a key person system to ensure that each child’s individual needs are met.

Through a combination of play, creative activities and structured sessions  each child is encouraged to develop knowledge, skills and understanding in all areas of the EYFS curriculum.

Staff work closely with parents by discussing your child progress through our online learning app Tapestry, through parent consultations twice a year and then through a final formative written report on your child’s transition into Reception.

Teaching Ethos

The teaching ethos in the Nursery and in our Early Years as a whole is creative, exciting, varied and hands-on. The children are encouraged to discover, question and relish in their learning in order to gain a solid foundation in every area of learning.
