School Results - July 2026

As we approach the end of another busy and fulfilling academic year, it is a wonderful moment to pause, reflect, and celebrate the incredible journey our school has been on. 

When I stepped into the role of Headteacher in September 2023, we set out with a clear vision: to establish stability, raise expectations, and ensure that every single child at Send CofE has the opportunity to flourish academically, spiritually, and emotionally.  Today, I am incredibly proud to share this year’s statutory assessment results, which show that our collective efforts are paying off in a spectacular way. 

We know that Send CofE is a happy, highly ambitious school where pupils are motivated to learn. Thanks to the dedication of our teaching team, the superb learning behaviours of our pupils, and your constant support at home, we have achieved some of the strongest academic milestones in our school’s recent history.  

Our Best-Ever Phonics Results: 
We are over the moon with our Year 1 Phonics Screening Check. An outstanding 95% of our pupils passed the check this year, a spectacular increase from the previous two years. This continuous climb puts our school comfortably and significantly above the most recent national and Surrey averages.

Maths Mastery & Multiplication:
 Our focus on mathematics has delivered steady growth. In the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC), our school's average score has climbed year-on-year to a superb 23.2 out of 25. Additionally, this year 37% of our pupils achieved a perfect score of 25/25

Soaring SATs Results: 
Our Year 6 cohort has achieved remarkable success across the board. Most notably, our combined Reading, Writing, and Maths (RWM) score has climbed to a historic high of 68.8%, representing an exceptional three-year upward trend. This outstanding result places our school comfortably and significantly ahead of both the latest National and Surrey averages! 

Strong Foundations in Early Years: 
In our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), we continue to give our youngest learners the very best. This year, 77.3% of our Reception pupils achieved a Good Level of Development (GLD). While this represents a tiny, natural year-on-year fluctuation from last year’s 81%, it remains a brilliantly strong result that sits comfortably and significantly above both the most recent National and the Surrey averages.

I want to extend my deepest thanks to our wonderful children for their enthusiasm, and to our entire staff team who work tirelessly to ensure every child flourishes.  We are incredibly proud of these individual and collective achievements.

Early Years Foundation Stage

Teachers assess children in each of the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile. Children are deemed to have attained a ‘Good Level of Development’ (GLD) if they have reached at least the expected standard in all of their Prime areas of development as well as the specific areas of Literacy and Maths by the end of Reception. 

KS1 Phonics Screening Check

The check is designed to give teachers and parents information on how children are progressing in phonics, and assesses whether they have reached the required standard in phonics skills and knowledge. Children who have not yet met the standard at the end of Y1 are screened again at the end of Y2.

Multiplication Tables Check

The purpose of the check is to determine whether a child can fluently recall their times tables up to 12.

KS2 Assessments 

Key Stage 2 (KS2) tests, often called SATs, are national curriculum assessments taken by year 6 pupils in England to measure their attainment against expected standards in English and maths. Scaled scores, ranging from 80 to 120, are used to report the test results, with 100 representing the expected standard. These tests help identify pupils needing additional support and inform school performance data.
