Both St Bede’s and Send CofE Infant School, which was built in 1958, operated as separate schools until 2012 when they became federated under the guidance of one headteacher and one governing body.

The Bush Lane school is no more after it was demolished following a decision to construct a new school building in the grounds of Send CofE Primary School.

The new building was officially opened in March 2017, with a number of dignitaries attending the special ceremony and youngsters performing songs and poetry readings.

Now the former St Bede’s site, which is owned by the Diocese, has been returned to a field.
