Our Local Churches

Our vision for Send Primary is to ensure the school is at the heart of its community, with children making a positive difference to the lives of others locally and globally and working as a vital part of our church community.

We have very strong links with the Diocese of Guildford, benefitting both staff and children through regular involvement in quality opportunities for prayers, reflection, learning and training. We are proud to be a Church of England school and celebrate this through church and cathedral services throughout the year including  whole school holy communion in May each year. We follow the Guildford Diocesan Scheme for Religious Education.

Children, parents and staff also regularly visit and take part in acts of worship at our parish church of St Mary the Virgin and we have positive relationships with the Send Evangelical Church community. The clergy and members of the congregation visit school regularly to deliver elements of collective worship and to run a Christian lunchtime club. Our children live our values through their community service by supporting as many church and community events as possible.

We embrace the Values Based Education philosophy (VbE), demonstrating this via the teaching of monthly Christian values and daily acts of Collective Worship. These values underpin everything we do.
