About Us

We are Send Church of England Primary School

Look at our badge, what do you see?

The motif of a tree is everywhere at our school and important to us.  Look really closely at our badge and its tree for a moment... When you look at our school badge, you will notice;

At the top of the school badge is a cross.

Jesus and our faith are our North star, our point of reference, showing us the way to go.

In the middle of the badge we see a tree with 3 branches, (if you look closely they look a bit like 3 people growing from the same trunk) This makes us think of;

The Trinitarian nature of God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

The 3 parts of our community; School, Families and Parish

The 3 Key Stages that children move through at our school; the EYFS, KS1 and KS2

The history of our school; Send CofE First School and St Bede's Junior School combining to make Send CofE Primary School.

 The tree seems to sprout from a book and the roots of the tree look like the pages of a book.

This reminds us that we are all comitted to helping children to learn and grow in knowledge.

The edges of our badge are decorated with acorns and the leaves of the central tree are oak leaves.

Our hope for the children at Send is that they will be like the ‘tiny acorns from which mighty oaks grow’.

We wear our school badge on everything; our school uniform, our staff lanyards and fleeces and on letterheads.

We are proud of it.
We are proud of our school.
